We Want You to Succeed
Our Disability Services Accommodations (DSA) team is here to help you fully participate in the online college classroom. You’ll have the support of a dedicated academic advisor to help you determine when and how to use your accommodations. Your advisor will also help you to make the most of your online classroom and guide you as you progress through your degree.
If you need accommodations, let us know. The disability services evaluation can take a while, so plan to submit your request as soon as you are admitted to a program and prior to registering for courses. If you are a current student who becomes disabled and needs new services, please contact us as soon as possible.
Disability Accommodation Process
To start, contact [email protected] to notify us that you have a documented disability (including a short-term disability). The list of documents the university requests will vary based on the type of disability you have, and may include medical records, test results, and a letter from your physician.
Next, provide us with a written statement detailing how your disability impacts your ability to learn in an online college environment and what accommodations will be helpful to you. Your medical history and other sensitive information will not be shared with your instructors.
The university's DSA officer will review the submitted documentation with the Disability Support Services Committee. You will be notified via email of the decision to grant or deny the request within 10 business days of receipt of all required documentation. If you are denied services, you may appeal within 15 days of the decision by using the official Academic Appeal Request form in the campus. The form is located under the Academic Plan & Forms menu, under University Forms. Please select “Other” as your appeal category and type and include your request in the space provided. You may also attach documentation to the form.
Please visit the student handbook for more details on how to request accommodations.
