- When applying to the university, be sure to select your employer in the Affiliations and Memberships drop-down menu. Many companies have partnerships with the university that offer unique benefits to their employees. These partnerships can make a major difference in the affordability and accessibility of your education programs.
- Prior to registration, ask your employer to complete and submit an employer voucher to our our Military Assistance Team (ta@apus.edu) that specifies information regarding what is being authorized (Student ID, course(s), term dates, amount, etc).
- Email the voucher to ta@apus.edu before your course start date.
- Obtain your Employer's Identification Number (EIN) from any W-2, paystub, or your human resources department. Your EIN is essential for processing your employer's tuition assistance.
- When you register for class, choose "Employer Voucher" as the method of payment and enter your employer's EIN number. If you do not have the EIN, you may input “111111111.”
- If your employer prefers to pay with a credit card, we will send you an invoice with instructions on how to pay. For employer voucher questions, please email: stuaccounts@apus.edu. This provides flexibility in how your tuition reimbursement benefits are managed.
The Office of Personnel Management supports job-related studies with up to 100% tuition reimbursement for federal employees. This may also cover the cost of all required course materials, which could be a significant benefit for federal employees looking to further their education without financial strain.
You will need to ensure you meet all the requirements for receiving education assistance prior to registering for courses where you intend to pay with federal employee tuition assistance.
- Approval – you need approval by both your immediate supervisor and the local Civilian Training Director confirming that the course is directly related to your job requirements and professional development.
- Funding – in some cases, limited funding may preclude full tuition reimbursement and/or course material cost coverage. It's important to understand the limitations of your tuition assistance program so you can plan accordingly.
