About APU’s Online Associate in Business Administration 

Gain career-relevant business knowledge in basic finance, management, marketing, and supervision. APU’s Associate of Arts in Business Administration program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP®)1.

Coursework provides a strong foundation of essential business skills. Students become familiar with practices like developing financial goals and managing budgets. They’ll also apply critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills to support diverse business environments.

Assignments integrate the entire Microsoft 3652 to provide learners with hands-on experience using digital tools. The course will give the student a broad background about the contemporary American and global business environments as well as considering different business organizations, management principles and strategies. Topics covered include marketing, finance, personnel, customer relations, production and operations, e-business, world trade ventures, internal information systems and decision-making processes.
This course is an overview of accounting concepts used by managers in a business environment intended for non-accounting majors with no accounting background. Topics include accounting concepts, users of accounting information, elements and purpose of financial statements, accrual accounting, internal control and basic financial analysis. Students must have access to Microsoft Word® and Microsoft Excel® software.

This course provides a comprehensive overview of marketing activities and functions, introducing students to the scope, terminology, and procedures of marketing. Key topics include the analysis of markets, competition, and consumer behavior, along with the assessment of product, price, distribution, and promotion strategies.

Students will explore consumer motivation and the processes behind the diffusion and adoption of new goods and services. Additionally, students will engage with a practical component, reviewing the key elements of a marketing plan, including market segmentation, branding, and integrated marketing communications, to understand how these factors work together in marketing strategy.
This course is an integrated-based approach to task-based, business problem solving using various technology solutions such as productivity software products, the Internet, and free applications. Students will be challenged to use appropriate technology skill sets, while also learning additional skills working on real world business projects. Students will complete the course with an e-portfolio of their work, which can in turn be used in the job search process.
