Understand what it takes to lead in the healthcare industry, including strategic decision-making, operational management, and innovative thinking, with a master’s in healthcare administration degree from American Public University (APU).

APU’s online healthcare administration master’s program develops your capacity to lead a diverse workforce and provide quality patient-centered care in a hospital, healthcare system, or medical practice. This health administration master’s program covers legal and ethical healthcare administration, organizational behavior, technology applications in health information management, and financial management.

To help you prepare for the real world, you will engage in simulation experiences. Using interactive software, you will address challenges routinely faced by healthcare administrators to make decisions about ethical, financial, and healthcare delivery matters.

This course addresses the role that information technology plays in the health delivery systems in the United States. Students will evaluate how the current and future trends in health information technology impact the quality, safety, and finances of the health care delivery system. The course provides students with a history of the Health Information Technology (HIT) evolution, an overview of current trends and challenges, the impact of HIT on the patient centered delivery system and the continuum of care, as well as the future trajectory of HIT.
